The Dhamma Park is a part of the Sippa Hotspring Resort Project, and is used as a meditation pavilion for studying and practicing Dhamma. The owner’s interest in the concept of the natural truth and principle of the Golden Ratio became the origin for the design of the project that is reflected through materials and form. The pyramid-shaped roof creates stability and serenity with its symmetry, while it also illustrates the encompassing power of nature. The outside wall was deconstructed to make a venetian blind. By controlling the direction of the light reflected on the building at the ground level, the light, when seen from the outside of the building, seems to be floating above the ground. Wood was chosen as the main material in order to create a serene and warm atmosphere that also interacts with the context of the forest in Chiang Mai.
